Yeung Hei Chun Jason

Yeung Hei Chun is a Hong Kong–based French horn player and brass instructor, actively engaged in both performance and music education. He began his musical training at the age of eight and completed a Diploma in Music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music (Honours), majoring in French horn under the tutelage of Mr. Homer Lee, and is expected to graduate in 2026. He also holds the ATCL Performance Diploma from Trinity College London, demonstrating a professional level of performance proficiency.

Since 2013, Yeung has performed with several major ensembles in Hong Kong, including the Hong Kong Festival Youth Wind Orchestra, Hong Kong Symphonic Band, and The Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band. He has also toured and performed in Taiwan and Thailand, gaining extensive stage experience. During his studies at HKAPA, he has been awarded multiple scholarships in recognition of his artistic achievement, including the ABRSM Scholarships (2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25), the Thomas Lee Creativity Prize (2023/24), and the Mr. & Mrs. Y. S. Liu Scholarship (2023/24). He has also participated in masterclasses with internationally renowned artists and ensembles such as German Horn Sound, German Brass, and Austin Larson, Principal Horn of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

As an educator, Yeung has extensive teaching experience with students of different ages and levels. He is currently a brass tutor at Bauhinia Musik Haus and Shun Tak Fraternal Association Lee Kam Primary School. He previously served for several years at Ocean Music as a trumpet and French horn instructor, and has also taught at La Salle Primary School, Cumberland Presbyterian Church Yao Dao Secondary School, and The Hong Kong Chinese Christian Churches Union Logos Academy (HKCCCU Logos Academy, Primary Section).

Yeung adopts a structured and progressive teaching approach, with a strong emphasis on fundamental techniques, tone production, intonation, rhythm, and ensemble skills. Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs and goals. He is committed to nurturing students’ confidence and musicality, enabling them to build a solid foundation, achieve continuous progress, and develop a lasting interest in music.
