After graduation, Mr. Man joined the Music Office as a Contracted Instrumentalist in the Tutor Strings ensemble and has served in this capacity for over 15 years. He is currently a Contracted Tutor with the Hong Kong String Orchestra, responsible for teaching in the "Light of Hope" and "Strive and Rise" programmes funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. His instructional duties include coaching violin, viola, chamber music, and orchestra training. To maintain his exceptional performance standard, Mr. Man remains active in various orchestras, including serving as the Principal Violist for the Greater Bay Philharmonic Hong Kong Orchestra and performing with The University of Hong Kong Orchestra.
Mr. Man firmly believes that "lifelong learning" is the cornerstone of continuous growth for any artist. To enhance his teaching and performance skills, he has completed several professional programmes, including: the Certificate for Music Mentor (QF Level 3), the HKU SPACE Certificates in "Music Listening Pedagogy" and "Music Pedagogy: Theory and Practice", a Certificate in "Violin Structure and Sound Production" , a Certificate in Piano Tuning and Maintenance, and an ABRSM Exam Seminar Certificate. He is currently pursuing a Professional Diploma in Early Childhood Music Education. Furthermore, to deepen his understanding of conducting and chamber music teaching, he began learning the cello from scratch and achieved a Grade 8 qualification within just four months. He also consistently practises the piano to continually broaden his musical horizons and capabilities.
With over 20 years of cumulative teaching experience, Mr. Man has a particular passion for working with children. He believes that technical instruction is only one part of music education; a more important mission is to inspire children's diverse potential—including intellectual ability, concentration, perseverance, and character development—through music. He is committed to accompanying his students on a fulfilling and warm journey of growth, extending far beyond the sound of the strings.
