Sonia Ho

Sonia, Ho Nok In is an active flute player in solo,chamber and orchestral music. 

 

Sonia graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University, Bachelor of Arts in Music Studies under the tutelage of Ms. Ivy Chuang and Mr. Brian Chan. Sonia furthered her Master of Music in Performance, majoring in Flute in Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she studies with Ms Sarah Newbold, Mr Matthew Featherstone, Ms Elizabeth May and piccolo with Ms Lindsey Ellis and Mr. Andrew Lane.  She has also worked with numerous principal flutists from world’s leading orchestras in master classes including Ms Juliette hurel, Mr Sebastian Jacot,  Mr Loïc Schneider, Ms Megan Sterling, Ms Linda Stuckey and Mr. Claudio Montafia.

 

Sonia also is an active flute and piccolo player in numerous local chamber ensembles and orchestras, including RWCMD Winds orchestra, Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Baptist University Winds Symphony and Po Leung Kuk Joint School Orchestra.

Sonia participated in several flute competitions and got good grade in it, namely the 9th Flute Festival Singapore 2018, The 18th Japan Flute Convention 2017 and Manhattan International Young Artists Festival Flute Competition.

Sonia is also passionate in music education. She is an active and experienced freelance flute tutor, who is teaching in various local schools and music education center, including Hong Kong Baptist Convention Primary School, Maryknoll Convent School, Bauhinia Musik Haus and more. She also works as a private flute and piccolo tutor.
