Born in Hong Kong, pianist Mia Wong Sin Hang is currently pursuing a Master of Performance Degree at the Royal College of Music with full scholarship supported by the Muriel, Lady Kadoorie Scholarship, and she is studying with legendary professor Norma Fisher. Mia received her early musical training at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) Junior Music Program, under the tutelage of Ms. Yim Wan. She then continued and finished her Bachelor Degree at the HKAPA, under the guidance of Ms. Julie Kuok.
Mia is the recipient of several scholarships, including Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation Scholarships, Tom Lee Music Scholarships, as well as the Society of APA Local Scholarships. She is a frequent winner in piano competitions including winning the 4th place in the 6th Kawai Asia Piano Competition, 1st prize gold award in the 1st WPTA Finland International Piano Competition and the 2nd place in the 2nd Hong Kong International Music for Young Pianists. She was also awarded the highly commended award in the Royal College of Music Beethoven Competition. Mia has also participated in several music festivals in the USA, including the Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival in Florida and Classical Bridge Festival in New York. She has played in various masterclasses held by world-renowned pianists, such as Graham Scott, Arnulf Von Arnim, Aquiles Delle Vigne and Maxim Mogilevsky. Mia is also an active performer, both as a soloist and playing chamber music in venues such as St Mary Abbots Church, Austrian Cultural Forum in London, Steinway Hall and Kaufman Music Center in New York, Act City Concert Hall in Hamamatsu.
